A 20-year-old Louisiana resident, Tyreion Arceneaux, was extradited to Lafayette, Louisiana, from the Kendall County Jail last week for several warrants out of the state, including an attempted murder charge.
Arceneaux was arrested in Kendall County on Dec. 22 during a traffic stop when a relative of Arceneaux was caught speeding on Interstate 10, clocking speeds of 100 miles per hour in a 75-mile-per-hour zone, reports stated.
According to the incident report from the arrest, an officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the Mazda sedan during the stop. The three passengers, including Arceneaux, were searched, and a small bag of marijuana was found in the pants pocket of Arceneaux’s relative, Devante.
When Cpl. Cary Boerner of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office ran the three passengers’ names through dispatch, Boerner found Arceneaux had warrants out of Louisiana for attempted murder in the first degree, felony possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids, felony possession of MDMA, a felony charge for illegally carrying weapons and a misdemeanor charge for fighting with an officer.
Arceneaux was arrested and transported to the Kendall County jail, where he remained until his extradition Jan. 18 to Louisiana, where he is set to face his several charges. Arceneaux’s relative was arrested and charged with driving without a driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
According to published reports in Louisiana, Arceneaux is linked to a shooting that took place May 2 which left a woman in the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
