Aug. 29, 1938 – March 17, 2024

Carolyn Ann (Alberts), 85, of Boerne, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her warmth, creativity and love for her family.

The Alberts family of Mantorville, Minnesota, welcomed their 11th child, Carolyn, into the world on Aug. 29, 1938. She attended Kasson-Mantorville High School, Gustavus Adolphus College and Kahler School of Nursing.

After marrying Wallace, they moved to Minneapolis, Phoenix and ultimately to Boerne.

While Carolyn was an elegant entertainer, known for her elaborate meals and events, she found passion for international travel while working in the travel industry.

Carolyn appreciated bird watching, flora and fauna in the outdoors. She used her natural creativity to become a talented artist, creating beautiful mosaics, quilts and other artworks.

Carolyn was honored in 2002 at the White House as the exclusive artist representing Arizona with her beautifully painted Easter creation.

Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Wallace; their three children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Boerne residents that welcomed Carolyn and Wallace into their new community.

A private celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at St John Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the staff of Holt & Holt Funeral Home of Boerne. To share words of comfort with the family, please visit www.holtfh.com.
