Comfort, Geneva volleyball teams sweep on Tuesday

The volleyball teams from Comfort and Geneva School of Boerne were in action Tuesday and pulled off sweeps to pick up non-district wins.

Comfort High

The Deer were on the road and defeated Sonora in three, 25-21, 25-16, 27-25.

Comfort is 18-9 overall and played at Leakey Friday before visiting Stockdale Tuesday.

Against the Sonora Broncos, Emily Hill finished with 11 kills, Jordan Judkins and Tindall Ahrens both tallied 10 kills, while Hill and Ahrens dropped in 3 aces each.

Hill had 2 blocks, Judkins came up with 15 digs, Ahrens and Lorena Cabral recorded 12 digs apiece, while Savana Womble tallied 32 assists.

The Deer are 18-9 and played in the Johnson City tournament last weekend.

Geneva

The Eagles hosted Veritas on Tuesday and beat the Austin school in straight sets.

Prior to that, Geneva played at the Johnson City Tournament where they won their first five matches before finishing second overall.

The Eagles defeated Jarrell, Del Valle, D’Hanis, Comfort and Marion to advance to the championship match where they lost to host Johnson City.

Geneva is 17-7 overall and plays in the Castle Hills Tournament this weekend.
